Warrenvillle, Ill. (Sept 16, 2023) The North Central College Cardinals women's cross-country team would take on the St. James Farm course once again. The team would finish seventh in this outing racing the 6,000-meter race with a field of 19 teams.
Julia Benes is the Cardinal leading the pack in this race, being the first to cross the line in 22nd, with a time of 22:47 and would have an average pace of 6:07 throughout the entire race. Lilly Anderson is the second Cardinal to cross the line running a time of 23:25 in 32nd place. She ran a smooth race with a pace of 6:17. The next three scoring Cardinals are Nicole Brandy (24:07) finished 47th, Segilola Smith-Pariola (24:13) finished 49th, and rounding out the Cardinal finishers is Alayna Ruach (24:15) as she finished 51st overall.
The Cardinals would finish seventh with a score of 201. The top five teams in the meet are University of Chicago in first with a score of 15, Washington University (St. Louis) in second with 58 points, Hope University in third scoring 81 points, fourth is Ripon College with 176 points, and Wheaton College with a score of 193 finishing in fifth.
The Cardinals will compete next in the Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola University Chicago on September 29th.
