Cardinals Finish 10th in Loaded Field at Loyola

Sept. 29th, 2023 – The North Central College Cardinals women's cross-country team competed in Loyola University Chicago's Lakefront Invitational. The team finished 10th in a field of 12 as they raced the 6,000 meter race. 

Julia Benes was the first Cardinal across the line with a time of 22:36.7 as she finished in 46th place with a average pace of 3:51 per kilometer. Lilly Anderson ran a time of 23:55.0 as she finished in 73rd. The next three scoring Cardinals are Alayna Ruach running 24:05.3(76th), Nicole Brandy running 24:05.4(77th), as well as Camdyn Lawson running 24:15.6(82nd). 

The Cardinals would combine for 277 points for tenth place. The top five at the meet are Iona University scoring 39 points, Wisconsin University scoring 72 points, Michigan University scoring 83 points, Illinois State scoring 95 points, and rounding out the top five is Northwestern University scoring 116 points. 

The Cardinals compete again in two weeks on October 13th at the Pink Classic hosted by Bradley University.
