Sept. 6, 2023 - Capturing the first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week award of the season, Mikayla Edquiban of the North Central College women's tennis team won the second weekly honor of her career.

Edquiban is 3-0 in singles play to start the season with wins coming at the No. 2 and No. 4 positions. In doubles actions, she is also a perfect 3-0 with a win at No. 1 doubles and two victories at No. 3. 

She won her first CCIW Player of the Week honor back on Apr. 28, 2021. Edquiban joins Abigail Penados, Kensington Payne, and Natalie Bassett as current Cardinals to earn the award. 

North Central hosts Carthage College on Friday as they look to stay unbeaten in 2023 and move to 6-0. That match begins at 3 p.m. at the Benet Academy Tennis Courts in Lisle.
