Beaver Falls, Pa. (Sept 9, 2023) The North Central College women's triathlon team traveled to Beaver Falls Pennsylvania as they would compete against all divisions in the Duquesne University College Cup. The reigning national champion Cardinals would go on to sweep the Division III podium in their first outing of the season.  

Reigning individual national champion Hailey Poe was the first Cardinal to cross the line as well as the first Division III athlete as she finished in a total time of 1:05:59.25 and would also finish 19th overall as well. Bethany Smeed is the second Cardinal across the line as she would second on the Division III podium but also 30th overall with a time of 1:08:36.13. Charlotte Kumler would complete the Division III podium sweep as she would cross in a time of 1:09:55.16 and would also finish 36th overall.  

The Cardinals would place 6th overall against 13 teams from all divisions with a team score of 176. Queens University of Charlotte would take first place with 20 points, Wingate University scored 51 for second, Lenior Rhyne scored 69 for third place, Duquesne University placed fourth with 110, and the Naval Academy scored 131 for fifth.  

The Cardinals will compete again in two weeks on September 23rd in the Millikin University College Cup in Decatur, Illinois
