Oct. 15, 2024 – The North Central College women's soccer team was honored with their second sweep of the weekly College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete Awards through the efforts of Elle Sutter and Kassandra Salviola.

In this week's United Soccer Coaches (USC) Region VIII rankings, the Cardinals remain at fifth behind the University of Chicago (8-4) but ahead of the Illinois Institute of Technology (9-2-1). Nationally the team ranks first in assists per game (3.43), fourth in points per game (10.86), first in total assists (48), third in total points (152), and fifth in total goals (52).

Salviola earned her second career defensive weekly award after getting her first career hat trick in a victory over Elmhurst University (7-0) on Saturday. Throughout two matches she anchored the defense to two straight shutout victories including a home victory against Augustana College (3-0).

Sutter has been awarded her ninth career and third of the season Student-Athlete award for offense after scoring a combined three goals and earning one assist. She is currently tied for first nationally in game-winning goals (6), tied for third in total assists (11), tied for third in total points (43).
