Oct. 2, 2024 - Posting a 5-2 record on the week, North Central College women's tennis senior Abigail Penados earned her third career College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week honor for her performances against Millikin University and at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Tournament.

Penados went 2-0 in the Cardinals' 7-0 victory over the Big Blue, clinching their 50th straight win against league competition. At the ITA Regional Tournament, Penados advanced to the Round of 16 for the second consecutive season in both singles and doubles play, teaming up with Kensington Payne.

The junior was named the CCIW's Player of the Year a season ago and has never lost a match against league competition (31-0). She is joined by Payne who was named the CCIW Player of the Week on Oct. 19, 2022 as current Cardinals to earn the honor.

North Central hosts Wheaton College for their first home match of the season. The contest is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the Benet Academy Tennis Courts in Lisle, Ill.
