Nov. 15, 2024 -  Following a successful fall campaign which saw the North Central College women's tennis team earn their fifth straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Title and junior Abigail Penados claim her second CCIW Player of the Year award, Penados appears in both the Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional and national rankings.

Penados, who is ranked No. 49 in Division III as a singles player and No. 13 in the Central Region, finished the fall with a 10-1 mark in singles play while teaming up with Kensington Payne for a 9-1 record in doubles. Individually, Penados advanced to the Round of 16 in the ITA Central Region Championships, pushing the top-seeded Oliwa Mikos to the brink, falling 7-6, 4-6, 7-10.

The 3x First Team All-CCIW selection joined the 100-win club this fall as she currently sits at 111 victories between singles and doubles play in her Cardinal career.

North Central returns to the court on Feb. 22 as they face the defending national champions in the University of Chicago. That match will be held at XS Tennis in Chicago.
