Feb. 20, 2024 - Capturing his fifth career College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Player of the Week honor, North Central College men's tennis senior Ramon Vilarroig Martinez won four matches this week to earn the award.

In the Cardinals' 8-1 win over Coe College, Vilarroig Martinez defeated Graham Peterson 7-5, 6-3 in singles after he and Matthew Sengphommachanh beat the Kohawks No. 2 doubles team, 8-2. Later that day, he and Sengphommachanh won 8-3 over their Lake Forest College opponents before beating Loeksyi Vyshyvanyuk 6-2, 6-1.

On the season, Vilarroig Martinez is 11-2 in singles play and 10-3 in doubles action. This award is the 33rd in program history since the conference began awarding Player of the Week honors in 2008.

North Central visits No. 25 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday at 6 p.m. The match will be played at Lake Geneva Tennis Club.
