Apr. 17, 2024 - For the second straight week, Max Svienty of the North Central College men's track and field team has been awarded the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance on the track.
 
At the University of Wisconsin Platteville, Svienty recorded an outstanding 13:57.03  time in the 5,000-meter run. Svienty's time moved to second in the program's history, pushing down Dan Mayer's record (14:00.63) set in 1994 to third. Additionally, Svienty ranks fifth in Division III this season.
 
Svienty and his teammates are back on the track this weekend. On Apr. 19 and Apr. 20, members of the Cardinals program will take on the Meet of Champions hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. North Central will also partake in the Don Church Invitational hosted by Wheaton College Apr. 20.
