Apr. 3, 2024 - The North Central College men's track and field team claimed their first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week award of the 2024 outdoor season. Max Svienty was selected as this week's track honor after his performance in the 10,000-meter run at the Stanford Invitational last weekend.
 
In California, Svienty was the lone Cardinal in the 10,000-meter run and finished the race in a time of 29 minutes and 6.60 seconds to take No. 19. Svienty's time is currently the fastest in Division III in 2024 as well as a career record. 
 
Svienty and his teammates will compete at the Chicagoland Championships Friday (Apr. 5) and Saturday (Apr. 6) hosted by Elmhurst University in Elmhurst, Ill.
