2024 All-CCIW Teams
Apr. 30, 2024 – The North Central College men's lacrosse team had five members selected to the first and second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) teams between,
Luke Illgen,
Rutger Rawlings,
Dylan Mlinarich,
Rylan McQueary, and
Evan Watanabe.
Illgen, a senior attackman received his first-team All-CCIW selection after leading the Cardinals in goals (43), points (65), and shots (115) throughout the regular season. He currently ranks sixth in shot attempts (115), eighth in assists (22), and fourth in goals (43) for a single season. In his career he obtained the third-best in goals (100), second in assists (65), fourth in shot attempts (314), and third in points (165). He also holds the fourth-best single-game goal record of six and the second-fastest goal to start a period scoring in ten seconds.
Senior defenseman, Rawlings has earned his first-team All-CCIW selection through leading the team in caused turnovers (19). He also holds the seventh-best career record for caused turnovers (43).
Mlinarch a graduate student, midfielder was honored with his second first-team All-CCIW selection. Last season he earned a Defensive Player of the Year selection for his unrelenting defensive effort. He ranks ninth in the program's career records for caused turnovers (34). This year he has secured 16 groundballs and forced eight turnovers.
McQueary, a senior midfielder earned a second-team All-CCIW selection. He currently leads the team in assists with 25 which ranks sixth in the program's single-season records and has obtained the eighth-best career record in assists (44).
Junior midfielder, Watanabe was selected to the All-CCIW second-team. He is tied in second for the program's single-game record for groundballs with 11. This season he has tallied 40 groundballs, seven caused turnovers, two goals, and six assists.
The CCIW also announced the six winners of its RESPECT Award for the season. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution, and their community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration, and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.
