2023-24 College Team Academic Award Winners

Aug. 1, 2024 - For the sixth straight season, the North Central College women's soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches Academic Team award for their performance in the classroom during the 2023-24 school year.

A total of 411 soccer teams (171 men, 240 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2023-24 academic year. North Central is one of 105 schools with both their men's and women's programs recognized.

The Cardinals posted an 18-2-1 overall record last season with a perfect 8-0 record in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin play to win the CCIW Regular and Tournament Championships. North Central also set a new CCIW record by not allowing a single goal during league play. The 18 wins overall and the eight wins in conference play are both program records. The Cardinals also broke five team program records with 91 goals scored, 15 goals allowed, 12 shutouts, a 14-match winning streak and a 15-match unbeaten streak. 

Eight Cardinals earned All-CCIW honors with Elle Sutter, Sarah Andrey, Kassandra Salviola and Jordan Lange capturing USC All-Region accolades. Sutter and Andrey claimed USC All-American honors as well, the first time in program history that multiple Cardinals were All-Americans.

North Central begins its 2024 campaign in Massachusetts, facing Bridgewater State University Aug. 30 and Endicott College Sept. 1. The Cardinals' home opener is on Sept. 8 vs Ohio Wesleyan University.
