NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Oct. 21, 2025) – After helping the North Central College women's soccer team to a 2-0 week, freshman midfielder Kara Waishwell was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Oct. 21, the first weekly nod of her career.
 
Waishwell's becomes North Central's fourth player of the week recipient, following Jordan Lange and Mackenzie Loomis's sweep of the offensive and defensive awards last week on Oct. 13, and Lily Mattison's defensive award on Sept. 16.
 
Waishwell started off the week with a late goal and an assist in North Central's 4-1 win over Millikin University on Wednesday, Oct. 15 before scoring a brace against Carthage College on Saturday, Oct. 18. The Cardinals handed the Firebirds their first loss in conference play by way of a 4-0 shutout. Waishwell's two-goal game was the first multiple-goal game of the freshman's career.  
 
North Central heads to Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill. on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for its second of three straight road contests. Game time at Neis Field is set for 7 p.m.
