USTFCCCA Regional Rankings
NEW ORLEANS (Oct. 22, 2025) – A competitive weekend resulted in a significant shake-up in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings as the North Central College men's cross country team landed the No. 10 spot in the coaches' poll with only the top three teams maintaining their rankings from a week ago. The USTFCCCA announced its regional rankings on Tuesday and its national rankings on Wednesday.
The Cardinals went up against a field of 14 nationally ranked teams at the Augustana Interregional Invitational last Saturday, Oct. 18 and finished fifth as a team. No. 1 ranked University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and No. 2 Wartburg College finished first and second, respectively.
UW-La Crosse maintained its spot atop the national poll, reeling in all 10 possible first-place votes and totaling 300 points. Wartburg and Johns Hopkins also held steady in second and third with 290 and 280 points, respectively. Tufts University made a big jump in the national poll, moving up five spots into fourth (270 points), with SUNY Geneso moving up two spots as well to sit fifth (260). New York University fell to sixth (248) followed by Williams College in seventh (238), RPI in eighth (227), and the University of Chicago in ninth (225). North Central rounded out the top 10 with 207 points.
Wartburg leads the Midwest Region according to the Tuesday's rankings release with Chicago edging out North Central for second while the Cardinals sit third. Washington University in St. Louis and Loras College close out the region's top-five.
After getting a glimpse of the Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill. with the Augustana Interregional Invitational, North Central will use that experience as it shifts its focus to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships that will be held on the same course Saturday, Nov. 1.
