Swim and Dive Travels To Bethel For Quad Meet

ELKHART, Ind. (Oct. 25, 2025)- The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving team traveled to Elkhart, Ind., for a quad meet against Bethel University (Ind.), Lindsey Wilson University, and Hillsdale College, where the men's team placed third and the women placed fourth.

During the men's events, Mihir Chandra finished in the top half of competitors in the 50-yard freestyle, where he placed fourth with a time of 23.29. Chandra also placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:04.23, and placed seventh in the third event he swam in, the 100-yard freestyle, with a time of 52.75. Griffin Laurin placed in two events at the meet, with a fourth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, which he finished in 5:21.12, and seventh place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.31). Clark Wilson turned in a personal best performance at the meet in the 100-yard backstroke, placing fifth with a time of 1:08.18. Clark's performances in the 50-yard freestyle (25.41) and the 100-yard freestyle (58.07) both gave him ninth place. 


The women's team saw the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay finish in 2:12.03 and 1:58.51, respectively, where they placed last. Individually, Ayla Pequette and Addison Bludgen swam the 50-yard freestyle, where they took 11th and 12th, respectively, with times of 27.95 and 27.99. Bludgen and Pequette also raced in the 100-yard freestyle along with Victoria Robinson, where Bludgen took 11th (1:02.52), Pequette took 13th (1:03.20), and Robinson placed 14th (1:06.15).  Robinson swam in the 200-yard freestyle, taking 10th place, clocking in at 2:26.68. Amelia Minarik had the highest placement on the women's side, placing sixth overall in the 1000-yard freestyle, where she timed in at 13:05.37. Minarik also swam in the 100-yard and 200-yard fly with Celina McDaniel. McDaniel placed ninth in the 200-yard fly (2:37.51) and 12th in the 100-yard fly (1:08.98), while Minarik earned a 10th-place finish in the 200-yard fly (2:45.36) and a 14th-place spot in the 100-yard fly (1:16.14). Caitlin Suda swam in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 32.61. 


The men's team racked up 391 points in the meet, while Lindsay Wilson College placed second with a score of 446.6, and Bethel University (Ind.) took first place with 497.4. The women's team scored 352 points, while Hillsdale College won the women's meet with 502 points, followed by Bethel (483.6) and Lindsay Wilson (480.2). 


The Cardinals return to the pool Saturday, Nov. 1, when they travel to Monmouth, Ill., for the Monmouth Invite. The events from Pepper Natatorium begin at 1 p.m.
