Feb. 5, 2025 – The North Central College men's track and field team's Colton Oleson earned the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Track Athlete of the Week award after setting a program record breaking and No. 13 best high jump in national history.

At the Squig Converse Invitational, Olseon measured 2.16 meters (7 feet, 1 inch) which sent him to the No. 13 slot in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) record books. With this first-place leap, he now leads the nation this season.

This week the Cardinals held at third nationally (113.33) while still trailing the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in second (159.08) and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in first (216.31). The team continues to dominate the CCIW rankings with 822.63 points with Illinois Wesleyan University being the next closest competitor at 322.42 points. In the Midwest region, the team remains second (271.35) behind Wartburg College (470.77).
