Apr. 30, 2025 - Anthony Zajac of the North Central College men's track and field team rules the hammer throw. This week, the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) has named Zajac the Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
 
Zajac was part of a handful of Cardinal athletes who traveled last week to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. Against highly ranked opponents, Zajac placed No. 14 with a toss of 55.59 meters (182' 4).
 
Earlier in the season, Zajac had a historic program throw of 59.00 meters (193' 7") at the Augustana College Meet of Champions. His mark is the furthest throw in school hostory in the hammer throw.
 
Zajac and his North Central teammates will compete at the CCIW Outdoor Championships beginning at 9:50 a.m. Friday, May 2, and at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, May 3.
