MADISON, Wis. (Apr. 4, 2025) - The North Central College women's tennis team faced tough competition today to begin the Midwest Invitational, falling to Whitman College 7-0 and Hope College 4-1 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
The Cardinals began the day against Whitman, dropping all three doubles matches.
Abigail Penados and
Kensington Payne battled to a 7-5 loss at the top spot, with the Blues winning 6-2 at No. 2 and No. 3. Whitman took the momentum of the match to win six singles matches for a 7-0 victory over North Central.
In the second match of the day, Penados and Payne picked up North Central's first win of the day with a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles.
Anastasia Bozovic and
Liveta Ezerskis cruised to a 6-2 win to secure the doubles point. However, the Flying Dutchmen won straight sets to claim a 4-1 victory over the Cardinals.
North Central will take court at 9 a.m. to face off against Luther College at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
