ELMHURST, Ill. (Apr. 5, 20250 - The North Central College men's track and field team competed at the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships, hosted by Elmhurst University, where
Colton Oleson and
James Ammenhauser were the top athletes in their respective events.
Oleson earned first place in the high jump, clearing two meters (6' 6.75"). Oleson's mark ranks No. 16 in the national rankings. Ammenhauser leaped first in the long jump, clearing 6.81 meters (22' 4.25").
Jayden Leise followed in second (6.60m, 21' 8"), and
Luke Hemmersmeier finished in fourth (6.50m, 21' 4").
The Cardinals claimed second and third place in the triple jump, with Leise leaping to 14.50 meters (47' 7"), followed by Ammenhauser notching a mark of 14.25 meters (46' 9").
Daniel Dominguez snagged fourth place in the shot put, throwing 14.45 meters (47" 5").
On the track, freshman
Kamil Kokot achieved a new personal best, clocking a time of 15.12 seconds and earning second place.
Brian Jackson also collected a new personal record of 22 seconds in the 200-meter dash and finished the day in third place.
Alexander Knight and
Clark Kelly each took fourth place in their respective events. Knight logged a 10.93-second finish in the 100-meter dash, and Kelly punched a 9:38.96 finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
North Central will partake in the Wheaton College Invitational next Saturday, Apr. 12, at Wheaton College's McCully Stadium.
