May 15, 2025 - The North Central College women's track and field team hit a new level in their last meet before the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Faith Ladin and
Lindsey Novak set new program records at their respective meets.
Ladin and
Anna Cotter competed at the CSB-SJU Multi-Event Qualifier at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville, Minn. Ladin earned a first-place finish, racking up 5,004 points. This exceeded her program record of 4,775 points from last season (2024). Ladin is ranked fourth in national rankings.
Cotter hit a new personal record of 4,343 points to finish the two-day event in third place. Her finish moved her to third in the program's top-ten records. Cotter sits at No. 33 in the national rankings.
The Cardinals saw just as much success at the Midwest Twilight Qualifier. Novak posted a 53.99-second finish in the 400-meter dash, earning first place at the meet and holding the fastest finish in program history. She surpassed Patsy Cargrill's record of 55.10 set in 1994. Novak moved to third in the national rankings and is No. 14 in the NCAA All-time list.
North Central's 4-by-400-meter and 4-by-100-meter relays both notched top-ten program marks. The 400-meter relay of
Cali Minkie, Novak,
Alivia Henkel, and
Kyla Miller clocked a 3:48.29 finish to take ninth place. The relay team sits third in the program's records and No. 33 in the nation.
Miller, Novak, Minkie, and
Allie Dockins represented the Cardinals in the 4-by-100-meter relay. The team took seventh place with a time of 47.51 seconds. The relay team sits seventh in the program's records, improving their time by .01 of a second.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Henkel posted a sixth-place finish (1:04.087).
Robin Lee took seventh in the javelin throw with a toss of 37.42 meters (122'02").
Abranet Layne and
Elliana Keyes competed in the triple jump for North Central. Layne earned a seventh-place finish (11.37m, 37'3.75), and Keyes followed in eighth place (11.21m, 36'9.50).
Gabrielle Harding took No. 16 in the hammer throw (41.25m, 135'04") and No. 17 in the discus (38.53m, 126' 05").
Qualified Cardinal athletes will compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships Thursday, May 22, through Saturday, May 24.
