CLAREMONT, Calif. (May 24, 2025) – Wrapping up the 2024-25 season,
Abigail Penados fell in the opening round of the NCAA Division III National Singles Tournament to No. 8 Lindsay Eisenman of host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 5-7, 0-6 on Saturday.
Penados, now a two-time participant in the event, is the only player in program history to compete in the NCAA Individual Tournament. She closes out the 2024-25 season with a 20-7 overall record in both singles and doubles play. Penados was named the 2025 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Player of the Year for the second straight season.
As a team, the Cardinals won their fifth straight CCIW Regular Season Championship before winning the CCIW Automatic Qualifier Tournament for the fifth consecutive season. North Central defeated Coe College in the first round of the NCAA Team Tournament.
