July 8, 2025 – For the fourth consecutive year, North Central College men’s volleyball student-athlete and athletics communication graphic designer Austin Scott has earned national recognition in the College Sports Communicators Creative & Digital Design Contest, collecting seven awards for his graphics and posters created to promote Cardinal Athletics.
Scott’s design portfolio placed fourth in the “Best of Division III” Designer of the Year category. He also earned six awards in individual categories. His 2024-2025 women’s basketball schedule poster design swept the top spot in both the College Division and Division III, while his men’s volleyball schedule poster took third in both categories.
In the Major Awards and Championship Graphics category, Scott’s design celebrating women’s wrestler Amani Jones’ national title was voted the best in Division III and finished as runner-up in the College Division. Additionally, Scott’s women’s wrestling team national runner-up graphic, placed eighth in Division III and 16th in the College Division.
Scott’s design for the men’s volleyball conference match against Carthage College finished second in both Division III and the College Division, while his game day graphic for the Red and White Scrimmage took 10th in Division III.
This marks the fourth year Scott has been recognized in the digital design contest, earning over 15 awards from CSC. After graduating this past May, Scott accepted an internship with Major League Baseball as part of their digital design team in New York.
The athletics communication department at North Central creates all of the content for the athletic department's social media accounts in-house, with most of the designs coming from undergraduate students.
In addition to graphic design, North Central student athletics communication assistants contribute to writing, website maintenance, event administration, broadcasting, and other initiatives.
