NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Sept. 15, 2025) – North Central College women's soccer goalkeeper
Lily Mattison was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's (CCIW) Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week after a standout week against ranked or receiving votes opponents.
The honor marks the first weekly award for the program this season and is the second honor of Mattison's career, having earned the distinction as a freshman back on Sept. 17, 2024.
Mattison had an exceptional week in goal for the Cardinals racking up 18 saves and a .947 saves percentage over two contests. She notched a 1-0 shutout win against Calvin University, who was receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, with four saves to start the week. Two days later, Mattison totaled a career-high 14 saves against the No. 1 ranked and reigning national champion, Washington University in St. Louis Bears. Lily held the Bears to just one goal, the Bears' smallest margin of victory this season.
