NEW ORLEANS (Feb. 17, 2026) – With the indoor season about to reach its peak, the North Central College men's track and field team has landed the No. 25 spot in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's latest rankings checkpoint.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh leads the rankings with 269.70 points, followed by Rowan University, which made the jump to second with 251.06 points. UW-La Crosse dipped to third with 242.91 points, with SUNY Geneseo jumping three spots to fourth with 97.74 points, and Central College rounded out the top five with 91.18 points. North Central totaled 26.82 points with five performances ranking in the top 35.
BJ Sorg and
Cole Oleson lead the Cardinals with No. 6 rankings in the 5,000-meter run and the high jump, respectively. Sorg's time of 14:15.43 has held steady since Dec. 6, while Oleson's 2.06m (6'9") clearance from Jan. 30 has been a constant so far this indoor season.
This past weekend,
Prentice Myles made big leaps in the long jump as the senior now sits 13th nationally with his 7.22m (23'8.25") mark. Randall Reed ranks 17th in the 200m dash with a time of 21.57 seconds and
Jayden Leise is 32nd in the triple jump with a 14.34m (47'0.50") mark.
The Cardinals will host their final home meet of the year, the F. Lee Slick Invitational, this Friday, Feb. 17. Competition is set for a 4 p.m. start.
