NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Feb. 25, 2026) – North Central College men's track and field sprinter Alexander Knight has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Track Athlete of the Week after an outstanding performance in the 60-meter dash at the F. Lee Slick Invitational.
 
Knight posted back-to-back personal bests in the 60-meter dash on Friday. He clocked a preliminary-round time of 6.89 seconds, the fastest in the field, before improving to 6.87 seconds in the final. His finals time ranks second in program history and is tied for the fastest mark in the CCIW this season.
 
The honor is the first CCIW weekly award of Knight's career and the seventh for a Cardinal this season. North Central has earned at least one Athlete of the Week recognition in each of the past six weeks.
 
The Cardinals will compete at the CCIW Championships this weekend, Feb. 27–28, in Bloomington. Illinois Wesleyan University will host the meet, which begins at 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday at the Shirk Center.
