DES MOINES, Iowa (April 25, 2026) - The North Central College men's track and field team sent select groups to the Drake Relays, the Kip Janvrin Open, and the Cougar Invitational across three days of competition April 23-25.

The 4-by-100-meter relay team kicked off the Cardinals' weekend at Drake with an 11th place finish out of 26 teams in the College division. The quartet of Dion'ta McDaniel, Randall Reed, Zach Anderson, and Alexander Knight finished third in their heat and posted a finishing time of 41.56 seconds.

North Central also ran a 4-by-1600m relay at Drake, finishing 10th in the University/College division in a time of 17:12.33. Owen Dare clocked a 4:14.74 as the opening leg while Jack Galminas followed with a 4:19.27. Aidan Armstrong ran a 4:20.03, and Jacob Kluckhohn finished it off with a 4:18.30.

The distance medley relay squad of Dakota White, Gabe Parker, Drew Patterson, and Anthony Eddy finished eighth in a time of 10:21.13 on Saturday morning. White opened the relay with a 3:11.78 in the 1,200m leg, with Parker clocking a 49.69 in the 400m. Patterson ran the 800m leg in 1:53.87, and Eddy finished it off with a 4:25.80 in the mile.

Just 30 minutes down the road from Drake Relays at Simpson College's Kip Janvrin Open, Reed turned in a runner-up finish but was the top collegiate finisher in the 55-person 200m field. Reed clocked in at 21.77 while Matt Lewis ran a 22.95 for 24th place. 

Back in River Forest, Ill., Prentice Myles won the long jump at the Cougar Invitational after popping off a 6.88m (22'7") mark on his third jump in prelims. His mark carried him through finals for the win and sits third in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin. 

North Central shifts its focus now to championship season as they prepare for the CCIW Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 1-2, in Kenosha, Wis. as Carthage College will serve as the meet host.
