NAPERVILLE, Ill. (April 28, 2026) - The North Central College men's lacrosse team has landed five Cardinals on the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin All-CCIW Second Team including Matthew Cranston, Wyatt Hunt, Ty Nagy, Alex Porter and Will Handberg. It marks the first all-conference accolades of each of their careers.

Freshman goalkeeper, Cranston started in all five conference games, recording 225 minutes between the pipes. He totaled 54 saves on a .545 clip while recording a 12.00 goals against average. Cranston finished the regular season ranking third in the conference in both saves per game (10.80) and save percentage. He also recorded an assist against Carroll.

Hunt started all five conference games at attack and led the team with nine assists in conference play while adding 10 goals of his own, including three man-up goals. The sophomore ranks third in the CCIW with 1.80 assists per game.

Nagy earned his first All-CCIW honor after starting all five conference games at attack. The graduate student led the team with 21 goals and added three assists against conference opponents, including an eight-goal performance against Augustana College in the regular season finale, an effort that ties the single-game program record. Nagy finished the conference slate ranking third in goals per game (4.20) and fourth in points per game (4.80).

Porter was a crucial piece to the Cardinal defense, starting all five games. The senior led the team with 10 caused turnovers and racked up 12 ground balls to earn the first All-CCIW nod of his career.

Handberg, a sophomore long-stick midfielder, appeared in all five games and earned his first All-CCIW honor. Handberg recorded 13 ground ball scoops and totaled three caused turnovers in conference action.

The CCIW also announced its RESPECT Award recipients who have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution, and their community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration, and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture. North Central's RESPECT Award honoree is sophomore defender Charles Eidson.

North Central is set to face top-seeded Elmhurst University on Wednesday, April 29 in the CCIW Tournament Semifinals. Game time at Langhorst Field in Elmhurst is set for 7 p.m.
