Nov. 25, 2008 - Sizzling perimeter shooting from guards Mitch Raridon (Sr., Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Northeast) and Reid Barringer (Jr., Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) and a huge advantage in the turnover battle helped pave the way to an easy victory Tuesday night for the North Central College men's basketball team, as the Cardinals cruised past Aurora University (Ill.), 83-65, at Gregory Arena.

Raridon, who scored a career-high 20 points, canned 6 of 9 three-point attempts in the game, while Barringer made 5 of 9 from beyond the arc as North Central (2-1) shot 52.2 percent from three-point range (12-23) in the contest. The Cardinals also forced 23 turnovers while committing just 10.

Barringer's 14 first-half points helped North Central pull ahead by as many as 12 points in the first half, but a buzzer-beating three-pointer by the Spartans slashed the hosts' lead to 36-27 heading into halftime.

After the teams exchanged threes to open the second period, the Cardinals put together the decisive scoring run of the evening, a 29-8 surge that provided North Central with a 68-38 advantage with 9:11 still to play. Chris Drennan (Sr., Bloomington, Ill./Normal Community) scored nine points during the rally, while Raridon tallied eight.

Drennan totaled 14 points and a team-high six rebounds. Matt Rogers (Sr., Rochelle, Ill./Rochelle) scored 11 points off the bench, and Dean Prince (Sr., Bartlett, Ill./Bartlett) matched a career high with nine assists.

Aurora (0-3) was led by Shane Roland's 16 points and six rebounds. Kevin Vandenberg added 12 points.

The Cardinals host Franklin College (Ind.) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
