Barringer Named CCIW Player of the Week

Dec. 1, 2008 - North Central College's Reid Barringer (Jr., Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 24-30.

Barringer earned the distinction after averaging 22.5 points per game in two games for the Cardinals last week, an 83-65 victory over Aurora University (Ill.) on Tuesday and a 76-62 win over Franklin College (Ind.) on Saturday.

He put up 19 points against Aurora, making 5 of 9 three-point attempts, then tallied a season-high 26 points against Franklin, which including a 6 for 8 effort from three-point range and an 8 for 8 performance at the free-throw line. For the week, Barringer made 52.0 percent of his field-goal attempts (13-25) and 64.7 percent of his three-pointers (11-17).

North Central (3-1) hosts the fourth-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks on Wednesday at Gregory Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
