Nov. 30, 2009 - North Central College men's basketball player Kyle Julius has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Co-Player of the Week for Nov. 23-29.

Julius, the first member of North Central's men's basketball team to be so honored by the CCIW this season, received the award after helping lead the Cardinals to a pair of overtime victories last week.

He scored 24 points, grabbed four rebounds and tallied four steals and two blocks in a 119-118 triple overtime win over Aurora on Tuesday. Julius made a three-pointer at the buzzer in regulation to send the game into overtime. His free throw at the end of the first overtime sent the game into a second extra session, and his two free throws with 16 seconds left in the third OT gave the Cardinals the win.

Julius also scored 31 points, grabbed four rebounds and hit five three-pointers in a 92-86 overtime win against Illinois College on Saturday. He scored 13 points in the overtime period to secure the victory.

Julius shared this week's award with Carthage College junior guard Steve Djurickovic.

The Cardinals (3-1) return to action Wednesday at Albion College (Mich.) Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern time.
