BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (May 8, 2010)-- The North Central College men's tennis squad suffered a 5-4 defeat at the hands of Augustana College on Saturday in the third place match at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament held at the Evergreen Racquet Club.

Matt Boguslawski and Sam Sweeney produced the Cardinals' lone doubles victory, defeating Chris Mullin and Adam DeSimone, 8-4, in No. 1 action. Eric McKee and Josh Clay pushed Geoff Schoon and Jack Cullen to the tiebreaker in the No. 3 doubles match before ultimately succumbing 9-8 (9-7).

In singles, third-ranked Sweeney rebounded from yesterday's defeat to post the, 7-5, 6-4, victory over DeSimone. At No. 2, Boguslawski rallied from the first set defeat to post the, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-3, win over Nik Lehnert while Josh Clay rolled past Schoon, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 6 singles.

With the loss, North Central concludes the dual match season with a 7-15 record while Augustana improves to 22-11.
