Sept. 8, 2010 - North Central College's Alyssa Gaudio has been honored as the first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women's Golf Player of the Week for the 2010 fall season.

Gaudio, a senior exercise science major, finished first in one tournament and tied for first in another as the Cardinals opened the season. She carded a collegiate-best score of 75, the lowest 18-hole round in North Central history, on Wednesday,earning medalist honors and leading the Cardinals to a first-place finish at the University of St. Francis Fall Classic at Inwood Golf Course in Joliet.

On Friday, she turned in a round of 79 at the Robert Morris University Fall Classic, played at Foss Park Golf Course in North Chicago. She tied for first place individually and paced North Central to a second-place finish in the 12-team field.

Gaudio, who earned individual medalist honors on Tuesday in leading North Central to victory in the Cardinal Classic at Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville, will look to continue her run of strong play this weekend, as North Central participates in tournaments hosted by Augustana College, Knox College and Monmouth College.
