Feb. 21, 2011 -  North Central College's Landon Gamble has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for Feb. 14-20.

The freshman forward averaged 20.7 points and 8.0 rebounds as North Central closed the regular season with three straight wins. He finished with a double-double of 16-points and 10 rebounds during Monday's 64-58 overtime victory over Illinois Wesleyan, scoring seven points in the overtime period. He then posted a season-high 30 points on 13-of-16 shooting in a 68-64 win at Elmhurst on Wednesday, also leading the team in rebounds (7), steals (2) and blocks (2). Gamble finished the week with a team-high 16 points in a 50-46 victory over Augustana on Saturday, scoring 11 points in the second half.

Gamble shared this week's award with Wheaton College senior guard Andrew Jahns.

The selection gives North Central a total of four Player of the Week honors from the CCIW this season. Gamble also received the distinction for the week of Jan. 24-30, freshman guard CJ Goldthree was named the conference's top player for Dec. 12-18, and senior guard Brian Evans was so honored for the week of Jan. 9-15.

North Central is one of two CCIW teams to receive four Player of the Week Awards this season and is the only one to have three different players receive the distinction.

The Cardinals (15-10, 11-3 CCIW) await the results of Tuesday night's game between Augustana and Illinois Wesleyan to see if they will receive a share of the CCIW Championship. A win by IWU would give North Central a share of the title and permit the Cardinals to host the CCIW Tournament, to be held Friday and Saturday.
