2011-2012 D3hoops.com All-Midwest Region Teams

Mar. 12, 2012 - North Central College men's basketball players Landon Gamble and Derek Raridon have been honored with selections to the 2011-2012 All-Midwest Region Teams, as selected by D3hoops.com.

Gamble and Raridon were both named to the Midwest Region's Second Team, marking the first time since D3hoops.com began selecting All-Region Teams following the 2007-2008 season that more than one North Central player made the list. Gamble is a two-time honoree, having made the All-Region Third Team last season.

Gamble was North Central's leading scorer this season at 13.7 points per game and ranked second on the team in rebounds (5.4 per game) and field-goal percentage (.524). He has also been a First Team All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) selection each of the past two seasons.

Raridon put up 12.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this season, leading the CCIW and setting a North Central single-season record by shooting 90.7 percent from the free-throw line. A three-time All-CCIW selection, Raridon became the 24th 1,000-point scorer in North Central history and currently ranks 12th all-time with 1,241 points.

North Central (22-8) won the CCIW regular-season and tournament championships this season, accomplishing both in the same season for the first time. The Cardinals tied the single-season school record for victories and earned the program's sixth bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship, advancing to the round of 16 for the first time as well.
