(Apr. 13, 2013) – Senior Gavin Corrigan finished 10th individually and led the North Central College men's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Weist Foundation Classic hosted by Millikin University on Friday and Saturday. 

North Central's combined score of 290 on Saturday at Hickory Point Golf Course was a season-low for the Cardinals.  The Cardinals shot a 315 on Friday at Red Tail Run Golf Course to finish with a combined score of 605.  Millikin won the meet with a 570 and Central College took second with a 589.    

Corrigan finished with a one-over 71 Saturday to finish with a weekend score of 149, and just ten shots behind the leader, Brian Barry of Millikin.  Shane Kunz fired 75s on both days to finish just one shot behind Corrigan in a tie for 11th

Brian Kirhofer, recovered after struggling Friday, to shoot a season-low and even par 70 on Saturday to finish 15th overall.  Nick Stavropoulos was the final Cardinal to figure into the scoring, after shooting a 160. 

Next weekend, the Cardinals head to the CCIW Championships in Bloomington, Ill. at the The Den At Fox Creek Golf Course.
