NORMAL, Ill. (Apr. 6, 2013) – The North Central College men's golf team finished 18th out of 26 teams at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational held at Ironwood Golf Course on Friday and Saturday . 

The Cardinals shot 76-over for the two day tournament, and a combined score of 652.  The host Titans took home the team title after winning a playoff with College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin rival Wheaton College.  The two schools shot 611 for the weekend, just one shot ahead of Wittenberg University and two shots ahead of Millikin University.  Carthage College (623) rounded out the top five. 

Brian Kirhofer led the way for North Central, shooting a 161.  His first round 74 was the team-low for the weekend.  Nick Stavropoulos and Shane Kunz tied for 63rd after firing 163s and Gavin Corrigan finished close behind with a 165.  Nick Muellner didn't figure into the scoring for the Cardinals, but performed well and shot a 168. 

North Central heads to the Weist Foundation Classic, which is hosted by Millikin University next Friday and Saturday in Decatur.
