Jan. 12, 2015 - North Central College has claimed the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin's (CCIW) Men's Basketball Player of the Week award for the second consecutive week, as senior forward Charles Rosenberg received the honor for the week of Jan. 5-11 on Monday.
Rosenberg received the distinction for the second time this season after helping lead the 10th-ranked Cardinals to two CCIW victories on the road. He totaled a career-high 26 points in a 62-46 victory at Millikin University on Wednesday, then turned in career-best totals of 27 points and 14 rebounds in a 75-70 overtime win at Wheaton College on Saturday. He averaged 26.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game for the week while shooting 63.6 percent (21 of 33) from the floor.
Rosenberg currently ranks third in the CCIW in scoring (18.4 points per game) and is tied with teammate Jack Burchett for second in the conference in rebounding (7.6 rpg). The Cardinals have now won four of the eight CCIW Player of the Week accolades that have been given out this season. Burchett was last week's honoree, while Jayme Moten was selected on Dec. 8 and Rosenberg got the nod on Nov. 24.
North Central (13-1, 3-0 CCIW) hosts No. 2-ranked Augustana College (13-1, 3-0) on Wednesday. Tipoff at Gregory Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. Links to live audio and in-game statistics, as well as a live video broadcast by Naperville Community Television (NCTV), can be accessed by clicking HERE.
