(ROCK ISLAND, Ill.) Jan. 13, 2016 - A dreadful early stretch of cold shooting condemned the North Central College men's basketball team in its matchup at Augustana College on Wednesday, as the 25th-ranked Cardinals trailed throughout a 76-49 loss to the third-ranked Vikings at the Carver Center.
North Central (10-5, 3-1 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) struggled out of the gate and never caught up, trailing by a 37-14 count at halftime. The Cardinals cut the gap to 55-36 with 8:52 remaining in the second half, prompting an Augustana timeout, but were unable to reduce the gap any further.
North Central was led in scoring by Connor Raridon, who put up 18 points and knocked down 3 of 4 three-point shots, while Aiden Chang put up 10 points and Alex Sorenson pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
