Jagger Anderson has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 30-Feb. 5. The CCIW announced this week's selection on Monday.
Anderson is the first Cardinal to receive the CCIW's weekly award this season. He is coming off a week which saw him lead North Central in scoring in a pair of victories, an 82-72 win over Carroll University on Wednesday and a 73-67 victory at then-No. 20-ranked North Park University on Saturday.
He netted 22 points, a collegiate career high at the time, along with six assists in Wednesday's game, then poured in 25 points on 9 of 15 shooting from the floor and 6 of 8 accuracy at the free-throw line on Saturday. Anderson helped lead the Cardinals to victory despite trailing at halftime in both contests.
For the week, he averaged 23.5 points and four assists per contest and shot 55.6 percent (15 of 27) from the field and 70.0 percent (14 of 20) at the line. He is averaging 10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game this season.
North Central (13-8, 7-5 CCIW) travels to face conference-leading Augustana College (17-4, 10-2) on Wednesday. Tipoff at the Carver Center is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
