Tournament Bracket

Feb. 25, 2019
- North Central College has been designated as one of 16 host sites for the first and second rounds of the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship. The games will be held Friday and Saturday at Gregory Arena.

The Cardinals (22-5) earned an automatic bid to the championship by virtue of their victory in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament last weekend at Augustana College. North Central will be making its fourth straight appearance in the national tournament and its 11th all-time. The Cardinals advanced to the national semifinals in 2013.

North Central's opening-round opponent will be Chatham University (Pennsylvania). The Cougars (19-9) are also an automatic qualifier, winning the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament championship last weekend. This will be the first meeting between the two institutions in any sport.

Friday's other first-round game features the Loras College (Iowa) Duhawks and the Albion College (Michigan) Britons. Loras (21-6) is an at-large qualifier from the American Rivers Conference (ARC), while Albion (19-8) is an automatic qualifier as the champion of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament. North Central traveled to face the Britons on Dec. 17 of this season, recording a 77-58 victory.

More information, including start times and ticket information, will be made public as soon as it is available.
