Ringo Closes Career as All-American Scholar

July 8, 2019 - North Central College women's golf student-athlete Laura Ringo has been recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) for commitment to excellence in athletics and academics during her collegiate career, having been recognized with a selection to the WGCA's annual All-American Scholar Team.

One of 1,097 women's golf student-athletes with a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average to be so recognized nationwide, Ringo is one of 191 NCAA Division III representatives receive the distinction and one of four to represent the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) alongside Carthage College's Carlee Dawson and Erin Walz and Illinois Wesleyan University's Olivia Ruff.

A recent graduate with a degree in marketing, Ringo competed in 10 events as a senior and compiled an 18-hole stroke average of 92.41 with a low of 86 recorded at Millikin University's Dechert Classic on Sept. 23. Ringo placed 26th individually at the CCIW Championship in October.

Members of the North Central women's golf program have collected 19 All-American Scholar Awards since 2009.
