2019-2020 All-CCIW Men's Basketball Teams

Feb. 25, 2020 - The North Central College men's basketball team has been honored with three selections to the 2019-2020 All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Teams and two of the conference's major individual awards after claiming its first CCIW regular-season title since 2012 last week. This year's honorees were determined by the CCIW's nine head coaches and announced Tuesday.

Senior forward Connor Raridon was named the recipient of the CCIW's Fred Young Most Outstanding Player Award, making him the fourth Cardinal to receive the honor and the first since Derek Raridon '13. Connor Raridon is scoring 14.1 points per game this season and leads the CCIW in assists per game (5.3) while ranking fifth in rebounds (7.0 per game) and sixth in free-throw percentage (.809). He has held North Central's career record for assists (618) for more than two years and ranks second in the program's history in scoring (1,721), free throws made (531), free throws attempted (658) and games played (116). 

Raridon and Matt Cappelletti were both unanimous selections to the All-CCIW First Team, while Blaise Meredith was named to the Second Team. Cappelletti currently leads the Cardinals in scoring at 14.2 points per game, ranking second in the CCIW in field-goal percentage (.513) and seventh in rebounds per game (6.8), and won the last two CCIW Player of the Week awards this season. Meredith has put up 8.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game and averaged 10.4 points per game during conference play.

Raridon is the fourth player in the program's history to earn an All-CCIW selection for the fourth time, receiving Second Team honors in 2015-2016 and First Team accolades in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019, while Cappelletti and Meredith repeat the All-CCIW recognition they received last season as well.

North Central head coach Todd Raridon was named CCIW Coach of the Year, marking the third time he has received the distinction (2011, 2012). He owns the highest win total (288) of any coach in the program's history and his 557 career victories rank him eighth among active coaches and 30th all-time in NCAA Division III.

The Cardinals (21-4) will host the CCIW Tournament at Gregory Arena Friday and Saturday. Pairings and start times will be made public following the conclusion of Tuesday's first-round games.  Click HERE for live coverage options.
