ST. GEORGE, Utah (Oct. 30, 2021) – Surrounded by red sandstone cliffs and dunes, North Central College women's triathlon student-athletes, Hailey Poe and Annika Cotner held their own in the combined-divisions field at the USA Triathlon West Region Qualifier in St. George, Utah on Saturday 

Poe and Cotner were the highest placed Division III individuals, finishing first and second in the division, and 20th and 24th across all divisions. There were a total of 74 competitors in the field.

Poe completed the hilly course in one hour, 10 minutes and 55 seconds while Cotner was only a short distance behind finishing in one hour, 11 minutes and 36 seconds. 

Poe and Cotner will reconvene with their teammates this week to fine-tune their training before heading to Tempe, Arizona on Nov. 13 for the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship.
