WARRENVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 4, 2021) – The North Central College women's cross country team notched a second-place team finish on Thursday as they hosted the Red/White Invitational at St. James Farm in Warrenville, Ill. The Cardinals placed eight athletes in the top 30.

Madzia Myrda was the lone Cardinal to stick with No. 4 nationally-ranked Washington University's lead pack through the 3-mile course, crossing the finish line with a grin in sixth place in a time of 18 minutes and 23 seconds. 

Senior Allie Ganser was the next Cardinal across the line in 11th-place in 18 minutes and 43 seconds, nearly 15 seconds faster than her 2019 time at the same meet. On her hip was Olivia Trask (18:55.6) in 12th. Natalie Nestler (19:35.5), Paige Runkel (19:38.2), and Lauren Belvel (19:58.0) finished 15th-17th, respectively.

Elizabeth Radencich (21:16.1) finished 24th and Alexis Petrielli (21:47.6) rounded out the Cardinal's top eight in 29th.

No. 4 Washington University (Mo.) claimed victory with a perfect score of 15 points at the Red/White Invitational, followed by North Central's 48 points, and Aurora University's 84 points placed third. Moody Bible Institute posted 106 points to finish fourth.

North Central treks to Rock Island, Ill on Saturday, Nov. 13 for the NCAA Midwest Region Championship hosted by Augustana College.
