Four Cardinals Named WGCA All-American Scholars

July 6, 2021 - North Central College women's golf student-athletes Kaitlin Kendrick, Julia Malosh, Katelynne Rostis and Madison Vermeland have been recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) for commitment to excellence in athletics and academics during the 2020-2021 academic year, each receiving selections to the WGCA's annual All-American Scholar Team.

With 1,432 women's golf student-athletes with a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average to be so recognized nationwide, North Central's honorees are among 308 NCAA Division III representatives receive the distinction 13 to represent the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW). Malosh, an exercise science major, earns the distinction for the second straight year.

Kendrick is a health science major, while Rostis majors in mathematics and Vermeland is a history major. Rostis placed 32nd at the CCIW Championships in April, while Vermeland placed 37th, Kendrick 38th and Malosh 41st. The Cardinals' four honorees matches the 2015-2016 team for the most the program has had in a single year.

Members of the North Central women's golf program have collected 24 All-American Scholar Awards since 2009. The Cardinals open the 2021 fall campaign by hosting the inaugural NCC Early Bird Classic Wednesday, Sept. 1 at White Eagle Golf Club.
