CCIW Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll
Oct. 27, 2022 - The North Central College men's basketball team has been predicted to finish second in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) this season, according to the annual Preseason Coaches' Poll released Thursday.
The Cardinals finished the 2021-2022 campaign with an overall record of 17-10 and placed fourth in the CCIW standings with a record of 10-6. Last season's CCIW champion, Illinois Wesleyan University, claimed the top spot in the poll with 61 points and six first-place votes, while North Central received 52 points and one first-place vote. Elmhurst University, which received two first-place votes, and Wheaton College tie for third with 50 points.
Millikin University sits fifth with 33 points, followed by Augustana College (31), North Park University (18), Carthage College (17) and Carroll University (12).
North Central opens its first season under head coach Anthony Figueroa Nov. 11, taking on the University of Dubuque at the Carroll Pioneer Tip-Off Classic in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Click HERE for the full 2022-2023 schedule.
