NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Feb. 14, 2022) - Turning in three first-place finishes on the day, the North Central College men's track and field team took third place in the Pat Hennan Invitational at the Al B. Carius Track on Saturday.
The University of Chicago totaled 109 points to take first-place while Lewis University secured second-place with 106 points. North Central scored 94 points followed by Wheaton College (90 points) and Olivet Nazarene University (70 points) to round out the top five for the event.
Jamauri Spivery ran his second-fastest 60-meter dash of the season (6.88) to earn his third first-place finish this year. He currently sits at 14th in the nation for his 6.87 run earlier in the season.
Nathan Halbrader, AJ Lehman, Juan Castro, and Julian Higueros teamed up to post a time of 10:14.46 which ranks 13th in the country on their way to a first-place finish in the distance medley.
In the 5,000-meter run, Max Svienty locked up a first-place finish with a season-best time of 15:10.34. Kyle Bell took third place (15:25.80) in the race with Austin Emrath finishing sixth (15:44.35). James McGlashon ran the mile in 4:19.47, a season-best for him, to earn second-place. In the 200-meters, Kevin Dixon also ran a season-best time (23.00) to take fourth-place.
Clearing 1.98 meters on his first attempt, Nick Janca took second place in the high jump.
The Cardinals host the F. Lee Slick Invitational at Al B. Carius Track on Friday. Competition is set to begin at 4 PM.
