GENEVA, Ohio (May 28, 2022) - An outdoor season spent breaking new ground in the North Central College men's track and field program record book ended on the awards stand for sprinter
Jamauri Spivery, who placed fourth in the 100-meter dash final at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship, held at SPIRE Sports Complex.
Spivery, who has lowered the North Central wind-legal varsity record from 10.72 to 10.48 seconds this season, qualified for Saturday's final by clocking a time of 10.56 Friday, narrowly missing first place in the heat.
Saturday, Spivery hit the finish line in 10.52, finishing behind only national champion Sam Blaskowski of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (10.40), Naquille Harris of State University of New York at Delhi (10.45) and JP Vaught of Centre College (10.46). Spivery is North Central's first All-American in the 100 since David Thompson '00 placed third in 1998.
Also qualifying for the championship was
Erik Musgrave in the 400-meter hurdles. Musgrave ran in the preliminary heats on Thursday, finishing 13th-fastest in 53.31 seconds. The time is just shy of Musgrave's qualifying mark of 53.24 seconds recorded at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Outdoor Championship.
The five points earned by Spivery's finish gave the Cardinals a 47th-place finish in the team competition.
