USTFCCCA Region Rankings

Jan. 25, 2023 - The North Central College men's track and field team claimed its second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week award as Max Svienty was selected as this week's Track honor after his first-place performance in the 5,000-meter run. The conference released its selections on Wednesday.

Svienty completed the 5,000-meter run in a time of 14 minutes and 47.30 second to take the event-win in a 13-person field. His time currently ranks first in the conference and his 14:37.90 conversion time ranks 13th in the nation.

North Central came in at No. 8 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest region rankings. Loras holds the No. 1 spot followed by Wartburg and Washington (Mo.) in second and third, respectively. Nebraska Wesleyan and the University of Chicago rounded out the regional top-five. 

North Central starts its weekend of competition on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Warhawk Classic Combined Event in Whitewater, Wis. before heading to the Gately Indoor Track and Field in Chicago for the Aurora Grand Prix on Saturday.
