Sept. 15, 2023 – The North Central College athletic department is excited to announce its partnership RISE to Win, a national nonprofit that educates and empowers the sports community to eliminate racial discrimination, improve race relations and inspire leaders in sports to create positive change on matters of race and equality.

The first North Central/RISE workshops will be taking place in Stevenson Hall (2^nd floor of Wentz Science Center) on Sept. 18-19 with student-athletes followed by a workshop for coaches and athletic administration on Sept. 20.

North Central athletics and RISE will continue to host workshops for student-athletes, coaches, and staff throughout the year on topics surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion with help from the Inclusion Team.

Local collegiate organizations like the Big Ten Conference, Northwestern University, and DePaul University have partnered with RISE along with Chicago professional sports teams such as the Cubs and Bears. Other NCAA Division III institutions like DePauw University (Indiana) and Macalester College (Minnesota) have a partnership with RISE as well. In total, RISE is in more than 40 states with over 500 partners.
